International Doctoral Program \u201cBusiness and Human Rights: Governance Challenges in a Complex World\u201d (IDP)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The program \u201cBusiness and Human Rights: Governance Challenges in a Complex World,\u201d funded by the Bavarian Elite Network, creates an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research forum for outstanding doctoral projects that address practical problems and theoretically grounded questions in the field of business and human rights.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IDP\u2019s research profile is grounded in the core disciplines of law and management and is complemented by sociology, political science, and information science. The research conducted by the grantees focuses on global value chains and transnational economic governance, migration and changing labor relations, digital transformation, and environmental sustainability. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program, which includes a wide range of courses, research retreats, colloquia, and conferences, began in November 2021 for the 20 participating doctoral students and will run for eight semesters.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fabrice Niyonkuru and Klemens Hering, research associates at our department, are members of the IDP. Fabrice Niyonkuru focuses on the intersection of informality, corporate responsibility, and human rights governance in global supply chains, with an emphasis on high-risk sectors<\/span>. Klemens Hering conducts research on local and participatory human rights guarantee systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
