After leaving school she made an apprenticeship as industrial clerk at Sch\u00f6ller Lebensmittel GmbH &amp; Co KG, where she worked in the accounting department for one year. In 1992 she was employed as export coordinator at geobra Brandst\u00e4tter GmbH &amp; Co KG. From 01\/1993 to 10\/2012 Susanne Piehl was secretary of the Chair of Economic and Business History at Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-N\u00fcrnberg. Since November 2012 she has been working at the Chair for Corporate Sustainability Management.
