Fabrice Niyonkuru has been working as a Research Associate at the Chair of Corporate Sustainability Management at Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen–Nürnberg (FAU) since November 2025. As a doctoral candidate, he is part of the International Doctoral Programme Business and Human Rights: Governance in a Complex World, funded by the Elite Network of Bavaria.

His teaching responsibilities include supporting the Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility course led by Prof. Dr. Markus Beckmann, as well as supervising master’s theses in business and human rights governance.

His research lies at the intersection of informality, corporate accountability, and human rights governance in global supply chains, with a particular focus on high-risk sectors, especially cocoa in West Africa and cobalt in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
